Services

Postal Parcel is a convenient and reliable way to send parcels across the Baltics and Finland. It’s well suited both for e-commerce deliveries and for consumer-to-consumer shipments via recommerce marketplaces.

Postal Parcel dimensions

  • Minimum size: 1 x 15 × 15 cm, minimum weight 100 g

  • Maximum size: 40 x 60 × 60 cm, max. weight 25 kg

  • Maximum size with the Oversized additional service: longest side 200 cm, longest side + circumference max. 300 cm, max. weight 25 kg

Sending

Business customers can conveniently send parcels using the Postal Parcel service. For handover, you can order a one-time courier pickup or arrange regular courier collections. You can request a courier in the following ways:

  • Via API integration in online stores

  • During order creation in the self-service portal

  • By concluding an agreement for regular courier collection

  • By emailing a request to kuller@smartposti.com

Couriers pick up shipments on weekdays during business hours. You can also deliver parcels yourself to our sorting center. Create orders in the SmartShip self-service portal by selecting the Postal Parcel service.

All packages must be packed according to packaging instructions. When using the labelless sending service, parcels can be sent using only a shipment sending code, without a physical address label.

Delivery

  • Postal Parcel shipments are delivered to a SmartPost/Posti parcel locker or pickup point.

  • If no location is selected, the parcel is sent to the nearest available pickup point based on the recipient’s address.

  • If the chosen locker is full or a technical issue occurs, the parcel may be redirected to the closest suitable location to keep the delivery moving.

How the recipient is notified

  • Once the parcel is placed in a locker or handed over at a pickup point, the recipient receives an electronic notification with:

    • the pickup location

    • a PIN code for collection

Courier deliveries

  • Baltics:

    • Oversized parcels delivered by courier are announced by SMS on the delivery day.

    • The courier calls before arrival to confirm the delivery time.

  • Finland:

    • The recipient is contacted when the parcel reaches the sorting terminal.

    • A delivery time is agreed within a four‑hour window between 09:00 and 21:00.

Important details

  • Notifications are sent only if correct contact details are provided.

  • Parcels are stored for up to 7 days, depending on the destination country.

  • If the parcel is not collected or delivery cannot be completed, it will be returned to the sender.

Storage time

After an unsuccessful delivery attempt, the shipment is routed to a SmartPosti sorting center, where it is stored for 7 days before being returned to the sender. During this period, the recipient can arrange a new delivery attempt.


Express parcel is a versatile delivery solution designed for business clients to ensure courier deliveries to Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Finland.

  • Maximum size: 60 × 60 × 100 cm, max. weight 25 kg

  • Maximum size with the Oversized additional service: longest side max. 240 cm, longest side + circumference total max. 350 cm, max. weight 35 kg

Sending

Create and order Express Parcel service in the  SmartShip self-service portal. In addition, SmartPosti also enables order submission via automated data exchange (API integration).   Parcel labels can be printed immediately after creating the order. If desired, and with prior agreement with SmartPosti, it is also possible to use a custom label format.  Shipments can be handed over in the following ways:

  • By requesting a courier pickup through API integration when placing an order in an online store. 

  • By ordering a courier pickup in the self-service portal at the time of creating an order. 

  • By concluding an agreement for regular shipment collection.

  • By delivering parcels directly to SmartPosti sorting terminal.

Collections are carried out on business days during business hours.  All shipments must be packed in accordance with the packaging regulations. 

Delivery 

Express Parcels shipments are delivered by a SmartPosti/Posti courier to the address specified by the sender or recipient.   In the Baltic countries (EE, LV, LT), if a phone number is provided, the recipient is notified via SMS. The courier will also call shortly before arrival to inform the recipient of the estimated delivery time.  The service includes one delivery attempt. If the recipient cannot be reached, a delivery notification will be sent via SMS or a notification slip will be placed in the mailbox (if available). 

Storage time

After an unsuccessful delivery attempt, the parcel will be stored at the terminal for up to 7  business days while awaiting the recipient to arrange a new delivery. Parcels that are not collected within this period will be returned to the sender as undelivered. 


Home Parcel is a flexible and reliable way to deliver parcels directly to your customer’s home in the Baltics and Finland. It’s ideal for e-commerce businesses looking for smooth and trackable home deliveries.

Delivery

Home Parcel shipments are delivered to the address provided by the recipient. Delivery times vary by region.

Baltic countries

  • Recipients receive an SMS on the delivery day.

  • The courier calls shortly before arrival to confirm the delivery time and check whether the parcel should be delivered to the address or redirected to a parcel locker or pickup point.

  • Notifications are sent only when contact details are available.

Finland

  • Recipients are contacted when the shipment reaches the sorting terminal.

  • A delivery time is agreed within a four‑hour window between 9:00 and 21:00.

  • Delivery options can also be managed in the OmaPosti app.

If delivery is not successful:

Baltic countries

  • The recipient receives an SMS or email asking them to contact us for a new delivery time.

  • Shipments are stored at the sorting terminal for 7 days.

Finland

  • The shipment is redirected to the nearest parcel locker or pickup point.

  • Storage time is 3–5 days and can be extended for a fee.

  • A text message informs the recipient of the storage location and period.

After the storage period expires, undelivered shipments are returned to the sender.

Storage time

After an unsuccessful delivery attempt, the shipment is redirected to a SmartPosti terminal, where it is stored for 7 business days before being returned to the sender. During this period, the recipient has the opportunity to arrange a new delivery attempt. 

 If the parcel is redirected to an OOH location, it will be stored there for a maximum of 7 days, depending on the country. 


Returns for Postal Parcel

You can return a shipment by:

  • using the return label included in the parcel

  • generating a return label through your integration or

  • creating a return order in the self‑service portal

Where you can return shipments

  • Parcel lockers (by reserving a parcel locker in MySmartPosti self-service.)

  • Service points (Finland only)

  • Pickup ordered according to your agreement

If the shipment was delivered by courier or exceeds the maximum parcel-locker dimensions, you can order a courier for the return. When using the Labelless sending service, the return parcel does not need a printed label.

Returns for Express Parcel and Home Parcel

Return label options Your customer can return an item with a return label that is either:

  • included in the original parcel, or

  • sent to the customer separately.

Businesses can create a return label in the self‑service environment or generate one through their own system using API integration.

Where parcels can be returned

  • Baltic countries: parcel lockers, parcel points or courier pickup, depending on your agreement.

  • Finland: parcel lockers and service points.

Using a parcel locker To return a parcel via a parcel locker, the sender needs to reserve a locker first in the MySmartPosti self‑service portal. If the parcel was originally delivered by a courier or is too large for a locker, a separate courier pickup can be arranged.

Additional services
